A Week Of Quests
Davinci's Quest framework is quite capable. I want to create a series of quests to showcase its capabilities.
To kick things off, Let's start with a street art competition. Take photos in your city or area of things that you really like -- either official art or a grafitti.
But there are important rules:
- Not just any piece of art or random tag. Show us something that you really like.
- It should be your own photo. Not something you took from the internet or -- god forbid -- LLM generated.
- You can upload up to 5 pieces.
- You have a full week to take the photos. The quest is open for a week.
Technical Details
This is a photo-upload quest that is open to anyone who is logged in. When you upload your first photo, you will get a badge. That badge will be used to collect the score from all the quests that will come this week.
This first quest is set up in a way that makes it possible to upload multiple solutions. Since these posts are also serve as tutorials, I will show and explain how the quest was set up:

- Name, Description and Image are self-explanatory.
- Input type is set to "Photo", so people can solve this quest by uploading one or more photos.
- Rewards: In this section you can select one or more badges. When a user completes a quest that has a badge as a reward, the system grants them the badge on the first approved submit. If the user already has the badge, it will not be assigned again.
- Reward points: next to the rewards you can specify an optional integer. If set, then that many points will be added to the badge's score. Be careful, it is possible to specify a negative amount. If so, then a successful quest completion will reduce the score by that number!
- Prerequisite badges: if set, a user can only complete the quest if they have the OG badge. Later this week I will create at least one quest that requires the OG badge to complete.
- Approve every submit without checks: if set, then every submission is approved. This is set right now, so you can upload 5 photos of your feet and the system will still give you 5 points for each. Please don't.
- Max resubmissions: This has multiple uses, as we will see later. For now, since it is set to 4, it allows you to upload 4 more images after the initial one. This also means that you will get the rewards each time you submit a correct solution, so in this case, every time.
- Allow resubmitting after success: For some quests, you can only resubmit (try again) if you did not get it right the first time. But not now.
- Reveal result on evaluation: If set (like now), then as soon as the submission is evaluated, you will get the results and the rewards. If unset, then you will not know if your solution is correct until after the quest closes. Thus someone can't learn the correct solution from someone else's submission.
- Attached post: if set, the quest will be attached to a post (On the screenshot it's "None", because I took the screenshot before I started writing this post :)
- Opens and closes at: between the two times the quest can be submitted. If "reveal" is set to at close, then the results will be shown after the quest closes.
Ok, that was a lot. I hope all is clear. If not, ask in the comments.
The Quests Tab
You will see all quests that are open for you in the quests tab. Go try it :)
Comments
This is too easy. I have way more than 5 :)
I submitted this tiny green boy. I think he does not exists anymore, thus is the fate of street art. But I saved him on my camera and in my heart. He was a faithful companion on my evening walks.

Another one from my collection:

I submitted a picture of my orchid at home which I placed it against a black board to create a black backdrop. It is art to me although it is not taken from the street. :)

Yay! I got the badge which has a decal. The decal is displayed perfectly well together with the score value.
{value} will not work in the description of the badge as of now. :)

Yes, I noticed the {value} problem in the text, I will fix it.
There is an obvious UX shortcoming here, we can't enjoy each other's submissions, unless everyone also creates a comment, which seems like double work. Let's find a good solution for this.
